Wildsight. Identification characters and calls are read from the published references named against each claim. Range, season and the record counts behind them are measured from occurrence data — iNaturalist research-grade observations and GBIF specimen records — for Indiana carried over from the Indiana Herp Almanac, for Michigan fetched directly. The two are always labelled differently, because a claim from a field guide and a claim from three thousand records are not the same kind of claim.

Photographs are the work of their individual contributors and are credited on every species. Nothing here is a substitute for a voucher or a specimen where one matters, and nothing here should be used to justify handling a venomous animal.
